Baruch vs NYU part time MBA, any experiences?
Does anyone have any experiences/insight that they would be willing to share?
I need to decide between the part time program at Baruch vs part time at NYU.
Why MBA: I currently work in healthcare. I have a bachelor's in nursing and currently work in a non-clinical role in admin. I'm pursuing the mba to bridge the skill gap from my nursing degree. Furthermore, my current role will likely be eliminated in the next decade. Post grad, I hope to work in industry (pharma, medical device).
Cost/Time: Baruch is 48 credits vs NYU is 60credits. My employer has tuition remission so Baruch would be nearly completely covered vs NYU about 66%. From what I understand, NYU has a much stronger name though my impression is the reputation is watered down a bit by the part time program. I attended a state school undergrad so I am familiar with the constraints public universities have. NYU is definitely a better school and better opportunity but I am not sure if the cost is truly worthwhile.
Why not full time: Im hoping to stay within healthcare so I'm not making a huge pivot. I cannot afford to not work for 2 years and the employer tuition remission is a big benefit. I am confident I will be able to balance school with my work responsibilities.
Experience: I've spoken to past students in both programs. Big takeaway is at Baruch the education was strong but the onus is on me to seek opportunities.
Does anyone have any experiences/insight that they would be willing to share?
Thanks in advance!
