Google app background usage on P8P

Hello, I am experiencing issues with the Google app, that constantly works in the background and thus draining the battery. When uninstalled all updates from the app and updated again, for the few hours I was with the old at glance & weather design (server side switch) and while I was on it it wasn't draining the battery. However, it got switched like 3 hours ago and it's again sucking the juice.

I think it started to happen when updated to 14.43.28.29.

Does anyone have similar observations?
