Out of a job for 15 years/What to Do?

Job searching

Hi all

I live in the DMV and haven’t worked in 15 years. I am disabled on the Autism Spectrum but feel mentally capable enough to get back in the workforce. I went to university for 5 years in the 2010s and studied Communications/Information Tech but didn’t graduate, as I went over the credit limit and I suck at math.

They gave me a hard remedial math course I had to take, just to get to the general math classes needed to graduate.

My skills relate to the subjects studied above. The only other job I’ve ever had in my life is a merchandiser at a warehouse.

What do I do? This region has plenty of jobs, but no working experience for a long while has always disheartened me as well as the pay. Don’t want anything retail related. Military perhaps? I am single and have no kids in my late 30s.

I do live with a roommate and an awesome landlady so my rent isn’t in question. It’s finding a job at long last to get on with my life.
