Information sharing confusion - nursery reports
A bit of background: My daughter is 2 years old and attends a private day nursery for 2 days per week. She has been having seizures since she was around 14 months old. The nursery are aware of this and a risk assessment and care plan was put in place. She had never had a seizure at nursery until two weeks ago. I have no issues with how the nursery dealt with the incident on the day, however, since then I have asked for a copy of their incident report to be told they will have to check if they can share it will me. I have followed this up three times now and have today been told it is confidential records so they won't share it.
Firstly, can they refuse to share a report about my own child? Secondly, this report would be useful to share with my daughter's neurologist, which is the main reason I was asking for a copy, can they refuse to share this information with the medical professional it concerns?
They have also not reassessed her risk since then which is another issue entirely but any information around the legalities of this would be really helpful. TIA.
