Digital bag check - what's the point?

Just checked into a flight I'm taking tomorrow and was given the option for the digital bag check, which I was somewhat familiar with already. They tout it as saving time, but I still have to print my tag at the kiosk, so I would be saving, what, just the few seconds it takes me to enter my checked bags there? From a customer's standpoint, is that it? Am I missing something here?
