am i being ghosted?

guy and i have been on a couple dates, on date two things get hot and heavy in his car (we did not have sex). date ends at 2:30am so he can catch a flight for 5:30am. over his vacation we’re talking, he’s sending pics etc. we even facetimed for 3 hours when he had a layover on his flight back. he says we may be able to have a date the day he gets back.

day he comes back from vacation he arrives at 7am and goes straight to work. we text a bit through the day, i follow up about the date, he says it will have to be another day. i do a safe face emoji and he says “you’re pulling my heart strings” and decides to meet with me after all.

well 3 hours before the date he says he has to cancel because of an emergency. i said call me when you get the chance as i was worried. that was 7pm last night, it’s 9am next day. i can’t help but feel the emergency was a lie since he said no the first time i asked. part of me wonders if he was just too tired to meet me as i live 40 minutes away and he’d just gotten back from a trip and gone to work the same day. but of course the worst is creeping into my mind as well.

what do you guys think? things seemed REALLY good, typically i can predict a ghosting but i’d be really shocked if he pulled that on me
