Parents with two kids - How do you keep your baby away from toddler toys?

With my daughter (now 2.5), the entire main area of the house was a “yes” space. But my son just started crawling and now that my daughter has smaller toys, the entire main area of our house is filled with choking hazards. I hate constantly taking things away that he can’t have. I have a play area set up for him (roughly 24 square feet) but he hates being confined!

I’m not sure what the solution is here!
