Looking to provide improved homes/services to disabled.

Question

Hello, I’m the director of a non-profit in California that is looking to open an Adult Residential Facility(ARF). Which is a home that provides housing and staff to individuals with disabilities and behaviors that impact the ability to care for themselves.

My question is to services providers and individuals with disabilities.

What some programs and services that have made a positive impact on your life no matter how small? Also what programs/services you would create or want to be created?

Our ultimate goal is to open enough facilities to create reduces cost housing and create several job avenues.

For example once we have multiple facilities we would employ residents as well as non residents with disabilities for jobs like, landscaping, maintenance.

Since it’s a job where there will be a lot of of linens we would create a department within the nonprofit to service the linens for the facilities.

I have goals of purchasing farm land in California and creating jobs there. The food wouldn’t be sold but used within home matters.

With the jobs created we would create a financial literacy program teaching residents and community members how to budget and invest.

Mental health services and so on.
