"You add your governing ability modifier" What does this mean?

I may just be confusing myself or not understanding this correctly.

For a Way of Lightning Consular - Potent Lightning says " You add your governing ability modifier (minimum of +1) to any damage you deal with force powers that deal lightning damage that don’t already include that modifier. "

Does that mean if I use a Dark Side power but my Wisdom is higher I am suppose to use Wisdom for the damage?
