I’m about to take a work trip, and my ID is currently expired. It expired at the end of august and I haven’t had a chance to get a new one. Will I be able to fly/stay in hotel?

For context, I had knee surgery august 22nd and my ID expired the 31st. I am going to the DMV Monday to get an updated ID, but I’ll only have a temporary by the time I leave for my trip
