Involuntary institutionalized/Gun Rights

I live in the state of Michigan. I was involuntarily institutionalized 9 years ago. I have not been in a psychiatric hospital since. My gun rights at that time were taking away from me. I have no criminal record. Is there a way to have this expunged off my record and how would I go about doing this? What are my rights?
