baby steps for someone who isn’t a “new” christian
my parents used to be pastors and all my extended family is very religious, so i’ve grown up very immersed in christianity i guess, but i’ve completely shut off since my dog got sick and died prematurely. besides semi regularly going to church with my family, i don’t do anything really. and i feel like to be a true christian, i have to completely get rid of or stop doing anything that might be a sin, and that’s kinda paralyzing, so i don’t do anything. also, it’s really hard to trust in God and that he’s good when he’s constantly allowing sm bad things to happen… so that holds me back. but of course i don’t want to go to hell, and i know that’s what’ll happen if i don’t change my current course, but if that’s my only reason, then i won’t be genuinely following him.
