My (32F) close friend of 15 years (34M) suddenly wants me to pay for his bachelor party.

My friend suddenly thinks I should pay for his bachelor party. There’s less than 2 months make it happen and there’s no plan at all apparently.

Firstly, I’m not the best man or even a man. I’m a woman who likes women and he feels that gender doesn’t matter. He’s also inviting our straight female friend. Anyway, last night out of nowhere he suddenly decides that since all his other friends are “poor.” I need to pay for the whole thing so he can have a good bachelor party. I told him I don’t have extra money right now because I unexpectedly had to take a 33% pay cut due to a job change and I also recently bought a house. (I am not his only friend that owns a house either.) Wheyn I told him this he laughed at me, because apparently he now thinks it’s hilarious when any white person talks about a financial misfortune. He is also white.

The past two years I have had some extra money for the first time in my life, because after 13 years of post high school education and training, I finally started making my professional level salary. I paid for my professional school and training expenses myself so I am several hundred thousand dollars in student loan debt (like the average new grad in my profession). The debt I’m in is significantly higher than my yearly pre-tax income. I don’t come from a wealthy family. My parents were school teachers and their parents were farmers and factory workers. I’ve worked very hard to get where and I am. Despite whatever advantages I’ve had, I had to sacrifice a lot and put in years of intense labor. I’ve exposed my self to traumatic situations and put my life in danger for my career. I’ve almost always worked in nonprofit settings even though I could make more if I cared less about humanitarian efforts and more about personal enrichment. I feel insulted and betrayed that he thinks his white, straight, male friends should be handed my money because “they’re poor.”

I don’t know how to deal with this situation. This guy has been one of my best friends for 15 years but I really can’t afford to fund his entire bachelor party and I’m pissed that he laughed at me saying I don’t have extra money right now. I don’t. Is there a way to navigate this without losing the friendship? Any advice would be appreciated?
