Are you against universal background checks for firearms?
How I've interpreted the data is that the number of guns that exist ("there are more guns than people!") isn't relevant to gun violence. Also besides obvious things like yeah of course you shouldn't be able to just buy a missile launcher, banning certain types of guns isn't effective either.
However, universal background checks look logical to me, as it would be one method to help reduce risky individuals from acquiring firearms. And I would think that most everyone would like it if it were more difficult for situations like a spouse who recently got hit with a divorce and restraining order to buy a gun.
What is your stance on background checks?
