Concerned about Maria (GentleWhispering) [discussion]

Maria’s new video on her side channel “Sassy Masha” about becoming a born-again Christian has me feeling quite concerned. The language she uses is very much in line with somebody who has fallen victim to cult-like brainwashing. I’m not saying she is in a cult, but from my training in cults and coercive control I know how to spot the red flags. Shedding “worldly” pleasures - she gave away all of her previously much-prized crystal collection, for fear of demons?? She has given up “self pleasure”. She says that time drinking with friends isn’t important to her now, but being alone is very important. Possibly a symptom of isolation tactics? Maria has always gone through phases of throwing herself wholeheartedly into new things. Previously it was massage, EFT tapping, crystals and astrology, gardening.. I fear she has thrown herself into possibly a predatory religious group this time. I really hope she’s okay, but I’m genuinely worried that she’s not.
