Haven't been able to write in months, finally got a chapter down

I've been under an intense amount of stress for months due to financial issues. NaNo (a writing contest in November) just started and I didn't think I'd write this year despite looking forward to it since it ended last November.

Funny enough, I wrote up an outline for a story and got everything together to write that book only to drop it all and write something on a whim.

My NaNo project for this year is a retelling of Hades rise as King of the underworld only its based in modern times and Hades us a "normal" human who has this ability to control souls of the dead. He and a handful of people have to work together to stop the Titans from destroying the world and become the Gods they are meant to be.

I have chapter 1 written already and I'm working on chapter 2 now. I'm absolutely over the moon with it and can't wait to write more! It's been a long time since I've had any motivation to even look at my laptop aside from doing small changes to my main book series and some outlining.
