farm usage

hi everyone... so I am quite new to archeage, I am playing the classic private server right now and I have a lot of land there (my family members quit and let me have their land). I just don't know what to do with it... I wanna make gold with it, not sell it. Should I just plant a bunch of different seed bundles and sell the crops at AH or is there a better usage of it? I have only been fishing since the game released so I don't know if I should get into crafting since I can produce my mats or whatever. Any help please?
