Help... My finger!

I hurt myself with a power tool and got my wound stitched up over the weekend. I noticed a white thing sticking out and it feels rubbery, is this bone marrow or a bone fragment that needs to be pulled when the stitches are removed? I tried slowly pulling with tweezers but believe the stitch thread is going through it?

Would any small bone fragments from this area dissolve, the ER person said they don't believe it requires surgery but I have a follow up with a hand specialist next week. My finger movement feels fine, ice just been putting Neosporin on it and cleaning the wound whenever the finger splint or bandage slides off.
