dead pixels and other issues with steam deck

i have had my deck for only a few months now and am noticing some issues i find upsetting.

today, while playing i noticed the tiniest fleck of dead pixels on my screen. please understand, i am extremely delicate with my deck. for perspective, when i sold my switch prior to this, i was told it was in such excellent condition, it was if i'd hardly used it.

additionally, the screen will not turn off/the deck will not go into sleep mode when i lock it now. even if i navigate to the menu and specifically press sleep mode, the screen remains on/blue and i have to restart the device. this happens especially after i play baldur's gate 3.

is this just me?? or is anyone else having these issues? is there any solution? i spent so much money on this thing and had so much love for it ( still do! ), but these little bugs are so upsetting for the price tag.
