How does everyone feel about using rare candies?

Now this isn't aimed towards throwing shade at people or hating on others. So if you plan to do that on this post, then don't bother posting a comment. A nuzlocke is a self imposed challenge, so people can play it however they want. I'm just curious to here people's opinions on it.

Now I've been nuzlocking for years, ever since ORAS came out. So that means I've been doing nuzlockes for 9 years now, and I use to not use rare candies because I felt like it invalidated the challenge. Plus I was doing it on real hardware back then, but it was SUPER annoying doing grinding. Especially in the games that didn't have the updated EXP Share, and even then when it was still a pain grinding weaker Pokemon up. I won't deny there's been nuzlockes I've put down simply because of grinding, and recently I've switched to using rare candies and it's made things a lot nicer for me. I do use lvl caps, and I only use rare candies before fighting the gym leaders. Personally it's made doing nuzlockes more enjoyable for me plus it makes better content if you record/stream like me, but I do understand the arguments behind not using them. As it cuts out the possibility of losing a Pokemon during grinding.

But anyways what's your opinion on it, I feel like it's commonly accepted especially with PChall and other Poketubers doing it. But I'd like to know your opinion on it, but please be civil about it. Don't attack me or anyone else simply because of having different opinions.
