AITAH for reporting someone to HR?

I’ll start this off by saying I’m HOH. I don’t wear hearing aids nor do I know ASL. I get by by the little hearing I have combined with lip reading.

I work in a warehouse type of environment for a major company. I’ve been there about three years and everyone new and old knows that I need to read their lips when conversing. Well there’s the supervisor let’s call him B. He’s been there since my first day and is well aware of my difficulties hearing. He used to lower his mask when speaking to me at the very beginning but stopped after a few months.

It’s been incredibly hard to understand what he tells me and after asking him to repeat himself for the 10th time he will usually roll his eyes and walk away or someone next to me will say it so I can read their lips. He does this every single time unless there’s a manager around. He tends to do this lately with an audience and they give each other looks like their laughing at me. He yells at me when my back is turned and I’m walking in a different direction, others tell him to stop yelling she can’t hear you but he still continues to yell. This has happened several times. He also likes to pull me from my station to send me to his departments to order me around and I absolutely dread it because I feel like it’s to embarrass me knowing I won’t be able to hear him. He also likes to do this thing where he won’t talk but like play charades of what I’m supposed to do and it’s embarrassing.

I try to avoid him at all costs, I see him sometimes pass by me and can see the wheels turning about how he can pull me from my station, he’ll walk to the managers desk for the OK and then comes straight to me. I hate it. I just know that I’m going to be made to feel dumb and look like a fool when I can’t understand him.

Yesterday I got my breaking point when he came up to me and by the 3rd time he repeated himself another worker came up and very sternly told him to lower his mask, he’s well aware I need to read his lips. He lowered and was laughing. I did my work then asked the worker if it was my imagination or was he laughing at me? She told me he was definitely laughing at me and to take it personal because he does it on purpose. She told one of the managers who told him and 10 minutes later he pulled me aside and said that he’s been made aware that I thought he was laughing at me, we’ll he wasn’t. I couldn’t say anything just flooded with emotion and started crying and walked away. . Im tired of it all .

I also found out from a friend that he tells people he’s going to write me up because he knows I can hear him but I act like I cant. I spoke to HR to report him and was told that there’s been reports of how he’s been treating someone who’s HOH, even by another supervisor who noticed it. But they couldn’t do anything until I came to report it myself to verify it all.

My friends tell me he’s definitely going to be fired but when I spoke to HR I told them I didn’t want him to lose his job, I just don’t want him to be my supervisor and want to avoid communicating or working with him from now on.

AITAH for reporting him and putting his job at risk??
