Out of touch/life style choices?

My friend in the States is complaining that she has to live off of $30000 per month until her divorce is final. She has one 7 year old, and she just turned 49 this year, so she's not young. It's just the lifestyle she's used to complaining to me that she has to check prices now before she puts anything in the cart now. And she has no mortgage or car payment. I'm almost embarrassed to tell her that I live on almost what she gets per month in an entire year 😳 I don't even know what to say to her when she complains anymore 😕
