ISO: API & Site Use Help

Hello! As, it seems, a majority of you using JLLM are experiencing, I am constantly struggling with the bots I speak to going off-character, off their built-in plots, and generally off the deep end, generating long, poetic text, nonsense, or just...the same response, repeatedly. Tried different bots of the same character, as well as different characters, tried messing with temperature and generation. Used OpenAi, got super upset when I found out about filters, and tried Kobald Colab, which didn't work out for me. I feel like it's not all on the API, but it likely does help.

Please, if you would, recommend me APIs/share your setups and/or general writing/other tips/links to them to try to help me improve my overall experience with Janitor. If possible, I'd like it to be my C.AI alternative, especially if I can find something to use in conjuction with no filters and better memory, essentially. Was considering buying Mercury from Venus Chub. Unsure. Thank you in advance for any assistance!
