Cutting pills in half

I'm on 50 mg of Spironolactone for the last 50 days and my acne has responded well but it's not perfect. I was also prescribed the Spironolactone topical but haven't gotten around to getting it.

Should I finish my first three month course and see where my skin is at? Or ask the doctor to prescribe me 75 mg?
