Design Space stuck in update loop. How do I fix?

I opened Design Space and it did the little "Checking for updates", smaller window would open to 'install updates', green bar gets like 95% of the way then drops to 30% then closes. Then it does the whole thing all over again. I tried uninstalling and installing again but still nothing. I just got a cricut joy to keep at my desk and I can't even test it out :(
