How much of the countries future is going to be spent building houses and not other things?

I had this thought today whilst thinking about how boring Canberra is, and how we don't build new cool shit anymore for the current population. How much longer are we expecting to have all of our construction in this country based in housing? Aside from new stadiums what has your city or state built or is planning to build that is an interesting attraction for the population. The next 10 years of our country will be spent on spamming house builds for a growing population which IMO is a bit unnecessary
