Red swollen gums and throat pain

24yr old female, not on any medication

I went to the dentist yesterday because my gums on the right side are red and swollen and causing me discomfort I was told I have a infection and need to do multiple rounds of deep cleaning but now my throat on the ride side is starting to hurt as well they didn’t give me anything or do anything just an exam because I have to wait 4-6 weeks authorization because of my insurance. Should I be worried or should I go to the doctor
