Breastfeeding for the first time at 6 weeks old!

My little boy is 6 weeks and night after all this time he was able to breastfeed.

Iv exclusively pumped for the last 6 weeks with the exemption to the odd formula bottle due to supply. He wasn't well and had to spend the first few nights of his life in an incubator which at the time he was given a bottle. We had latch issues ever since and later we found out he had a small tongue tie.

I thought I knew alot during pregnancy but one thing that didn't come onto my radar was breast shields. No one spoke about them and it was never mentioned to me in the hospital. One friend suggested it and after some research I said I'd buy one to see, I didn't have much hope given the amount of time.

Well I'm sitting in bed with happy tears with a happy sleepy baby with a full tummy. I know this isn't a magic fix and I also know to feed formula to my child is absolutely perfect or to pump is fine too but for me this is just something I really wanted to be able to do. Hopefully I can continue.

Everyone is asleep but I needed to share this even if no one reads it.
