Hate this “promotion”

rant

I went on maternity leave over the summer, when I left I was a BA with the development team. When I came back there was no direction on what I was to do. I gave it a week of just catching up and checking in with the team. Reached out the second week and didn’t hear much. Third week I was told that development was moved and I was no longer needed. But there was a place for me as a PM with implementation. Which yeah sure technically a promotion but apparently not including a raise and frankly I don’t like it. Previously I was testing and researching and coordinating with UI. Not a lot of meetings, which is what I was planning for. Now I have meetings everyday and I’m usually talking for a good bit of them. And still need to do notes and continue learning about the product and deal with people way more frequently. It’s draining and none of the projects end before the spring so I feel trapped. This is just a rant because my husband doesn’t get it, he’s very career driven and thinks this is great. I don’t care. My LO is a bit of a Velcro baby and I don’t think I could do this if I cared about progressing and being a great PM
