Why does everyone think I’m gay?

Vent

I’m a 17y/o trans guy. I’ve had keyhole top surgery, been on testosterone for nearly 3 years, and I am passing as a guy for sure. Only problem is that people don’t see me as “just a guy.” They usually see me a “a GAY guy.”

I don’t actually know my sexuality yet, which is hard in high school. For some reason people have the nerve to just ask my sexuality or more likely just assume that I’m gay. For a while, I actually feel like I got pushed into that box because of my peers and really started to really believe that I was gay. I had kind of an urgency to put a label on it because everyone I knew had already done that. But in reality, I haven’t the slightest clue. (I guess I know that I like guys, and maybe girls, but it’s all so confusing and I don’t want to try to label it too early)

I hate having other people label me like this. I even have a good friend who is “completely certain” that I’m gay. She kinda treats me like a gay best friend, and unfortunately I went along with it for a while because I didn’t know what else to do.

I’ve never been in a relationship. Sometimes I wonder if I would be able to figure out my sexuality if I get into a relationship, but how do I even go about that?

I feel like I’m never gonna find a partner. For a while I just tried to accept that no one is going to want a trans guy (which I know is not true at all)

Anyways, that’s all for today. I would love to hear if anyone has had similar experiences that they were able to grow from.
