Picking up after Pets: A Poop Patrol Plea

With the dark coming earlier and earlier this time of year, my daily dog walks have shifted to the nighttime. Two nights in a row now, I've had encounters with piles of doggy delights. Yep, you guessed it – the classic "oh no, I just stepped in dog poop" scenario. The landmines I tactfully avoid in broad daylight are invisible in the dark.

I don't mean to preach, but there's a little matter that needs some attention – picking up after our four-legged pals. For those of us who have chosen to adopt, let's also make the choice to scoop the poop.

To our fantastic, conscientious dog owners, a big high-five to you! You're the MVPs who make our parks a cleaner, more pleasant place to be. We appreciate you more than you know.

And to the guy who watched his dog leave a steamer in the park and continued on as if nothing happened, come ON man! It's a part of the gig. Trust me, nobody wants to use the mutt mitts that are conveniently placed all over the park.

This is just a plea from a fellow dog owner to do your part and to leave the community better than we found it. Thanks!
