Induction due to Medication?

My OB just informed me this week (about 16 weeks) that I’ll be induced at 38-39 weeks because I take hypertension medication. Meanwhile I take the lowest prescribed dose, my blood pressure was 110/64 at my visit, and it has been medically controlled for 5+ years.

Does anyone know if this is common practice? I really don’t want to be induced and hope for as few interventions as possible.
