Doctors taking up law

Are there any doctor-lawyers here? I was just wondering how law school and practice is like for doctors who pursue law after med. My late father was a lawyer and I'm currently finishing my hospital internship which will be followed by the board exams. I'm not interested in specializing but instead, I would like to go into Public Health policy. My goal is to get an MPH after this but I was also wondering if a law degree would be useful as well for the career I want.
