Is it bad to go on a second round of accutane?

I Did a round of accutane starting 20 months ago. Prescribed at 80mg a day for 4 month. At the 3 month mark The Derm said that although it had worked well I would benefit from 2 more months (after the 4 months was over), if I wanted to. I said no because my skin was looking much much better (mainly just PIE left) and I was really fed up of the side effects and the accutane in general so decided to stop at 4 months.

Since then my skin hasn’t been perfect. Few spots here and there; but much much better than it was before accutane. Lately My skin has started to break out a bit more than normal, and I’m considering going to the Derm again for round 2 of accutane. But have heard before that going on accutane then stopping for a long time then doing another round isn’t very good. Is there any truth to this? Thanks
