2001 540i Turbo

So I'm looking to turbo my 2001 540i, and was wondering if anyone had done it before/knows of a parts list. I know that there is a bolt-on kit, but 7500$ is a bit much when I paid 8500$ for the car. I'd probably just have the intake out the headlight or cut a hole in the hood to fit it in there.
