Mary by Nat Cassidy… help?

Does this book get any better? :( It’s really slow and kind of boring so far. I don’t like any of the characters but everyone says it’s a good read. I’m at page 123. I don’t mind spoilers! Please let me know if it’s worth continuing.

I am struggling to keep up with all the random, fragmented bits thrown together. It seems like a really weird parody bit you’d find in SNL. Is there something I’m not understanding?
