ThruNite T1S Neutral White Version : Overview and beamshot comparison to cool white
- Overview: This is the neutral white version of the T1S V2. The regular version is one of my most carried lights. It's nice to see ThruNite offer a neutral white version on so many of their models. The beam comes off more softly and colors look more natural. On board USB-C charging makes it convenient to keep the included 18350 battery ready to go.
- In the box: Includes T1S V2 flashlight, an 18350 battery, two-way pocket clip, wrist lanyard, 2 spare USB-C port covers, 2 spare o-rings, USB-C charging cable, and a user manual.
- Build Quality and Design: It’s compact, but it feels solid in hand. Typical high quality ThruNite machining. I like the deep carry two way pocket clip, although it doesn’t slide into pocket with one hand very smoothly. Not perfect, but it can clip onto brim of hat for a powerful headlamp. Built in USB-C charging makes keeping a full charge simple and convenient. The USB-C rubber port cover stays in place well and helps keep it water resistant. Magnetic tailcap is always great to have.
- User Interface: User interface is advanced enough to have all of the features I care about without getting too complicated for everyday users. Most importantly, hold from off will give you moonlight mode and double click is straight to turbo. One click on, one click off. While on, hold to cycle through low, medium, and high. While in moonlight mode, you can also lockout the light with a long press. A triple click takes you to strobe mode. The modes are well spaced and useful for any scenario.
- Emitter and Beamshots: This new version uses a SST40 neutral white emitter that creates a more warmer and natural tint. It is green on lower levels, but cleans up some on high and turbo. It's not super noticeable outdoors, but definitely on white surfaces. The TIR optic creates a nice large hotspot with less spill than normal reflectors.
- Battery and Charging: Powered by an included 1100mah 18350 battery and rechargeable via integrated USB-C port.
Pro’s:
- Bright and throwy beam
- Warmer tint
- Magnetic tailcap
- Two way pocket clip
- Good UI with shortcuts
- Small and portable in pocket
Con’s:
- Green tint at lower levels
