What is the name of this effect?

I'm trying to take a photo and replicate this same effect for a t shirt. Anyone know how to do this in photoshop? I'm having trouble even knowing what to search to find a tutorial and its driving me crazy.

How do I achieve the solid color/transparency so that when its overlaid on a different color shirt you can see that color peak through?
Thanks in advance!
