Looking for recommendations

I’m tired of my old MacBook and looking for something new for myself this holiday season. I use it for simple email, editing photos and videos. It’s an older MacBook Pro and I’m wondering if it make sense to just upgrade or is there something out there that’s better for less than 3,000USD
