Gen v leaves something to be desired

It’s unfortunate that there’s something lacking in the show. It’s not a bad show at all, and some plot points are interesting, but it’s a major downgrade from the boys.

For a teen drama, the teen drama aspect is the least compelling and most predictable. I was hoping Kripke would stay away from the stereotypical sex, drugs and cheating that all teen dramas seem to have, but he didn’t.

Even other elements were so predictable and cheap, like Dr Cardosa’s convenient drunken speech that info-dumps for the characters and his death that was played to be suspenseful but it would have been more surprising if Neuman didn’t kill him.

It’s overall also paced.. not amazingly? It’s clear the writers forced the characters into a narrative even if their actions aren’t consistent with their emotions in previous scenes.

If this wasn’t linked to the boys, I would not have bothered past the first episode, but I need to keep up for when s4 drops.
