Are there ANY good pieces of Silent Hill media outside the console games?

With the release of Ascension, I was wondering if there is any good Silent Hill media outside of the console games? Always heard bad things about the visual novel, comics, etc… I do really enjoy the first movie, but is ruined with inaccuracies to the game and wasted Sean Bean plotline. Is there any additional content out there people actually love? Would be happy to hear opinions.
