Can I use sheets to automate daily schedules in GCalendar for shift work?

Unsolved

Hi I'll start with my question and put some context after.

What I'm trying to achieve is;

  1. On a month by month view, I can select a day and drop down a shift type (e.g. Earlies, Nights, Off, etc)
  1. Inputting the shift name auto populates a day schedule for that day
  1. The daily schedule will comprise of a finite list of approximately 11 activities (i.e. wakeup/bed, meals, gym etc) in 5-15 min blocks. Each day I'll be doing most but not all of the potential activities and they will almost certainly be at different times depending on the shift.
  1. The above populates in my Google calendar with a 'All day event' of the shift name and then the individual sections from the daily schedule (e.g. All day - "Early shift", schedule - "0500-0530 run, 0530-0540 - shower, 0550-0600 - breakfast").
  1. To have a page where all my shift types and all my daily activities are listed so they can be adjusted if needed.

So the end experience I'm looking for is to go... Thursday 2nd November, Click dropdown "Late shift", populate that day on my calendar with my meal times, gym times etc.

I don't mind manually inputting my shift days because I do that anyway and whilst I work on a rota pattern, individual days have changes not infrequently. I work shifts, I'm trying to organise myself and I have 0 experience with sheets and a passing familiarity with exceedingly basic Excel-like-functions.

Context: I am currently struggling with some burnout and haveing a hard time getting my personal wellbeing, goals and admin done because I'm all over the place with my shift work so I'm going back to basics and I'm going to try and schedule everything in and then stick to that. (Up to and including sleep...yes that back to basic).

I am intentionally being lazy here by asking this community because I don't want to spend hrs or days trying to learn something I imagine has been done before and is probably very simple to those who know how. I have searched but I think my request is too specific for what's filling the search result engines.

I hope you can help and thanks for reading through it.
