The Most American Thing Ever.

A group of God-fearing American scientists work in a lab to create something to surpass the bald eagle.

They come up with a bioengineered cyborg creature that's a combination of a bald eagle, a Texas longhorn cow, and a Fairchild Republic A-10 Warthog. They assign this creature the codename MATE, an acronym for Most American Thing Ever.

However, this creature escaped, and goes on a rampage. It becomes an embodiment of toxic patriotism, and anything that doesn't meet its ever-changing criteria of what it takes to be truly American will be obliterated by the force of its Gau-8 Avenger machine gun.

This prompts a crack team to be assembled. Some of them immigrants. Some grew up poor. Some have experience as oppressed minorities. Some are even veterans or refugees. But they all share the same mission of putting down MATE and protecting the safety of real people over an imaginary ideal.
