how to ask out an acquaintance?

asking this on a throwaway for the same reason i google dumb questions in incognito tabs (anxiety and misplaced shame) but i (20f) am currently a university student and have a huge crush on a classmate. im 99% sure shes in to girls so that's not an issue. I am, however, autistic, and have always struggled with socializing. would it be wierd for me to just go up to her one day after class and just tell her I think shes really really pretty and that i want to get to know her better? ive been meaning to do that for a while now but I keep getting in to my own head and worrying ill seem creepy or desperate or something. idk i guess i just want some hyping up or reassurance or whatever else, maybe advice on how i can word what i want to say? weve had a few encounters that could be maybe interpreted as a sign of interest but that could also just be wishful thinking. we're also both trans so maybe it was just her recognizing that? at the very least we wre friendly with eachother, we just dont know eachother very well
