(nsfw) how do i deal with my friend Getting Busy while i was sleeping

i’ve literally never done a reddit post before, i only made an account to get advice on this bc it’s stressing me out. also, i kinda need to vent about this bc i don’t know who to talk to about it.

last night, i (20) was at a sleepover at a friends house with a bunch of our other friends (all 20) and when it came time to sleep, me and this particular friend were put into the spare room with two mattresses. all was fine up until i woke up in the middle of the night and starting hearing wet noises, and it took me a moment before i heard the moaning and i realized my friend was masturbating 2 feet away from me.

i didn’t want to embarrass them or alarm them, so i tried covering my ears and hiding under my blankets but i was literally on the verge of a panic attack i had no idea what to do that wouldn’t end in an embarrassing confrontation that literally i would rather die than do. so i waited until it got quiet again and i started “waking up” and a few minutes later i left the room to sit in the bathroom and calm down. by the time i came back, very loudly i might add, it seemed to be completely over.

but now i cannot fucking look them in the eye. it doesn’t help that in the last week or so, they’ve been getting on my nerves and i keep almost snapping at them, and now i’m just so quiet that they noticed and asked if i was okay, and i had to lie and say that i was.

but i’m not really? i don’t hold this against them, there’s nothing shameful about masturbating, but i just feel so disgusted at the situation. also, i have ocd and many of my intrusive thoughts are sex related and involve friends, so this is like one of my worst nightmares.

anyway, if you’ve read this far, i’d really just like some advice about how to go forward without ruining the friendship and also not letting them know what happened (again, death by mortification)
