Medigroup Winnipeg- opinions?
Curious what others’ experience has been there. My doctor has always been very kind and attentive, but since moving to this location post-pandemic something feels off.
After years of encouraging me to get a flu shot booster every year, this year he told me he wasn’t offering any as it took away from his ability to deal with complex cases. (Which seems weird, considering I’m a fairly complex case, his reception accepted my appointment with the note saying “here for flu/Covid vaccine and issue X”.)
My previous appointment he went straight to commenting about my weight and offering Ozempic, which again seemed out of character as I’ve overweight for years and grew always been supportive of my ongoing efforts to eat well, exercise, and distress. Plus, he should, as a doctor, be well aware of the Ozempic shortage in Winnipeg that is currently affecting diabetics who NEED the drug?
When I flat out refused the Ozempic he wouldn’t quit about the weight thing (despite my appointment being booked for something else!!!) and switched to telling me I needed to go vegan and see a dietician.
Yes I’m overweight - I eat due to stress and fatigue from stress. I have underlying health issues that make it very difficult to lose weight, though I’d made some significant progress before Covid.I already eat lean meat and/or vegan regularly and little by way of prepared foods.
On a followup visit, I realized they have posters up in ALL the clinic rooms “welcoming our new dietician X”.
Is my Dr being asked/threatened(?) to be a Medigroup schill?!
Let me know your experiences….I’m worried for my doctor! Thanks!
