Got laid off before my LMIA submission, and now I don't know what to do
My company was assisting me with the LMIA process, and we were actively preparing the required documents. Everything was on track, and I intended to submit my application before my work permit expired (working holiday). I had already submitted a visa extension request before this date, ensuring that I maintained my status to stay in Canada. However, I unexpectedly got laid off just before I could submit my LMIA application. And now I'm devastated as I don't know what to do so I can stay here.
:'(
Could I apply for a tourism visa?
If not, can I switch to a student visa by applying to a school?
If these options aren't possible, do I have to leave the country immediately?
