First time - high risk

I'm 42 and had my first colonoscopy. My mother had stage 2 a couple years ago and after bloody stools, anemia and other bowel changes, we decided it needed to be done since I'm already high risk.

They found a 13mm polyp, suspected SSA with mucus. I know enough to know this isn't good. Obviously I have to wait for pathology. I'm not particularly worried, but I can't help but think about how this impacts the rest of my life. I'm now going to have to do this every 3 years (HATED PREP).

On the other hand, I'm grateful it is one of the easiest cancers to prevent.... So that's good. I think I'm just processing that had I waited until 45 like recommended, I'd likely be on a VERY BAD road. Anyway, thanks for listening.
