Playing with the voices off?
I guess this is just my thing right now, I'm playing with the voices completely tuned out. Anyone else done this? How did it change your playing? What does the voice acting bring now that you've heard the same 10 voices for the 1000th time? For me, I'm actually significantly more invested in the narrative hearing the characters dialog in my head with the score playing high and loud. Every guard a new face. Every argonian conversation done through delicate whispers close to one another, while Nord warriors brashly puff their chest. You get the idea. Having monolog while going from city to city poking my head into every shrine, cave, and hackdirt around as I'm sure theres more. Holy shit hackdirt itself. I've played Elder Scrolls 4 and 5 for years but truly never really understood the game I could have been playing, always trapping myself in the same ways and making myself want to start over, even when I was having fun. My current and most accomplished champion is an Argonian Pilgrim under Thief and its very fun getting to know literally every character around now that they don't all sound the same.
