thinking about committing HELPP

HIIII i need some guidance on a few things... I'm 2nd year student transferring (maybe here) in the fall studying neuroscience. I'm from rhode island and have only ever been to philadelphia once, i'm super interested in living in a densely populated place like philly but it's completely new to me. I had literally never heard of templeU and know no one who has ever been here, so i'm asking, what do you guys think of the university or philly itself? I noticed that rent is super cheap even 5 mins from campus, which was soo surprising coming from RI where it is almost impossible to find just a single bedroom apt for less than 1k.. But, are these off campus apartments relatively safe? I understand in any city there are going to be some casualties but is it to the point where you'd recommend me, a first year temple student, to live on campus? Also, on the note of living on campus, is it common for upperclassmen and transfer students to live on campus? also any area/building recommendations?? plz tell me anything you love or hate about temple because i am genuinely so curious and, from the outside, i loveeee the idea of this school and definitely will be applying.
